Dr Sue Ryan

Sue is a Chartered Forensic and Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and is a Registered Practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council. She is a member of the BPS Divisions of Clinical Psychology (DCP) and Forensic Psychology (DFP) and a member of the BPS Faculty of Forensic Clinical Psychology.

Sue is currently employed as Deputy Service Director of Resettle (Intensive Intervention & Risk Management Service), a Joint Probation and NHS Community Offender Personality Disorder Service. Sue has worked within the field of forensic clinical psychology within the NHS for over 13 years in high, medium, low secure and community forensic settings. She has also worked with female partners of men who have sexually and/or violently offended, assessing their ability to protect children. Sue has a special interest in the field of personality disorder, having worked in three specialised personality disorder services and she is currently completing a Master's Degree in Personality Disorder: Improving Expertise, Enhancing Practice.

Sue teaches on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Manchester and University of Liverpool on the subject of Antisocial Personality Disorder. She is also a member of the BPS Child Protection Working Party. Sue is able to undertake assessments for prison and criminal proceedings including parole reports, pre-sentence reports and post-sentence reports as well as assessments for civil proceedings, including parenting assessments for family proceedings.
