Malinder is a Forensic Psychologist who is Chartered with the British Psychological Society and is a Registered Practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council. Malinder has been qualified for 24 years and is currently employed part time by Elysium Healthcare as Head of Psychology in a Women’s Complex Rehabilitation and PICU service. She also works in part-time clinical private practice both in the UK and Australia, where she is registered with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency.
Malinder has extensive experience as a Forensic Psychologist in secure and community forensic settings within Devon Partnership Trust, Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and previously in the prison service in Western Australia. She specialises in assessment, case formulation and treatment of male offenders with complex mental disorder and psychological trauma who are at high risk of violence. She has experience of delivering training to criminal justice and allied health professionals in working with offenders with personality and other mental disorders.
Malinder is trained to administer a range of risk assessments including the VRS, VRS-SO and HCR-V3. She is a certified trainer for the VRS. Malinder is an accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapy Practitioner, Radically Open DBT Intensively Trained Clinician, accredited Level 1 Sensorimotor Psychotherapy practitioner and has experience of delivering Schema Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Malinder is able to undertake assessments for criminal proceedings including pre-sentence reports, post-sentence reports and risk assessments for the purposes of parole.
