Deborah Kelland

Deborah is a Consultant Forensic Psychologist who is Chartered with the British Psychological Society and is a Registered Practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Deborah has been qualified for 30 years and has worked in a range of prison and mental health settings including high secure hospitals. Deborah has developed particular expertise in working with women offenders and assessing mental health issues in women. Her most recent post was the NOMS (National Offender Management Service) Clinical Lead for CARE, an intervention for women in prison for violent offending and with complex needs.

Deborah is able to provide risk assessments of violence, recidivism, cognitive and intellectual functioning and personality disorder. Deborah has an interest in the assessment and treatment of the effects of trauma. She has completed training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and she has a special interest in Mindfulness and Narrative Therapy.

Deborah is able to undertake assessments for criminal proceedings including pre-sentence reports, post-sentence reports and risk assessments for the purposes of parole hearings.
