Dr Claire Rycroft

Claire is a Clinical Psychologist who has been qualified since 2016. She is a Registered Practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council and is a member of the BPS Divisions of Clinical and Forensic Psychology. Claire is currently self-employed working in Independent Practice completing forensic psychological risk assessments of violent and sexual offenders, adult psychological assessments, including those for Family Court proceedings, psychological therapy, training and supervision.

Having previously worked in high and low security settings, acute mental health inpatient, and community settings, Claire is experienced in completing assessments, formulation and treatment of violent and sexual offenders, as well as clients with mental illness, including those with a diagnosis of anxiety, depression, personality disorder and PTSD. She also has experience of delivering a variety of group interventions to patients, and training and consultation to other professionals.

Claire is trained in risk assessments, including the HCR20-v3, RSVP-v2, SARA-v3, and structured psychological assessments including the IPDE. She is trained and proficient in the assessment of cognitive functioning and memory including the WAIS-IV and WMS-IV. Claire has also trained in and delivered Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and attended training for Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).
